DYLAN Roberts is getting a bit fed up of finishing off the podium after he and his team ended a weekend at Donington Park where they took part in round three of the North Gloucester Road Racing Championship (NGRRC) Championship.

Roberts’ team included his dad, Trevor, plus Colin Barratt, Luke Higton and Byron Baker-Brown.

Roberts races in the NGRRC in the Open 600cc Class on a Superstock Yamaha R6.

The team missed out on round two of the championship at Cadwell Park due to electrical issues with a Yamaha R6, so scored no points which was devastating as they had a solid start to the season at Brands Hatch with two fourth places in the open 600cc class.

But last weekend at Donington Park more than made up for missing the second round with amazing weather and quality close racing.

He scored two more fourth places with full grids of 40-plus riders and some very fast company in the mix, including the championships 2015 champion, the 2014 champion, British championship frontrunners as well as an ex-600cc British champion.

It wasn’t an easy start to the weekend as the team only had the bikes issues sorted by last Thursday which meant a late entry to Donington Park.

This meant the team had to start the first qualifying race on Saturday morning from 38the place out of 40 riders.

However, Roberts made his way through the field quickly and got to ninth place.

He started ninth for Saturday’s main race and reached fourth at the end. On Sunday, he repeated the result with another fourth place in a great battle, just missing out on the podium.
