AS always, Cadwell Park is one of the most exciting circuits on the BSB calender and the most popular with the fans and this year was a sell out.

There were over 150,000 people through the gates on race day alone.

This is the second outing for Yate’s Luke Hedger with his new Team Appleyard Macadam Yamaha, and they have all bonded well.

Both Hedger and the team had to use both free practice sessions to get a new clutch set-up and working in time for qualifying, but with every lap that Hedger was out on the track, he was taking chunks of his time.

Qualifying went extremely well and he is still getting used to the different bike, although it is still a supersport motorbike.

The Yamaha is very different but in a good way.

Hedger started race one from a very respectable tenth position.

As it got underway and the lights went out, Hedger was still getting used to his new clutch and didn’t get the best of starts.

He lost a couple of places and was locked in a battle for tenth place which is where Hedger finished, but the progress between the rider and his team was clear to see.

Race two saw a much better result after trying a different setting in morning warm-up.

Hedger felt much more confident with his machine, and he got a much better start off the line, not losing any places.

He found himself in a race long battle for the last podium place but finished seventh.

The battle was hard but Hedger felt good afterwards and confident, and to come away with two top ten finishes are good results.
