YATE Hockey Club hosted their annual President’s Day Hockey Fest this month at the Yate Outdoor Sports Complex.
Despite the rain, there was a great turnout including those from the Juniors’, Women’s and Men’s sections of the club as well as some new faces.
There were exciting moments both on and off the pitch, from hockey action to burger flipping and flying gazebos at the complex.
The Juniors’ tournament kick-started the day, showcasing some of the next generation talent that could become players for the future.
In the adults’ mixed tournament, the teams battled it out to be crowned President’s Day winners and, after a tightly-fought final, ‘the only team with a goal keeper’ scored the golden goal and won the title.
As well as being a sporting success, the tournament raised an excellent £435 which will go to the Help for Heroes charity.
