Evo Stik Southern League Division One South and West
Yate Town 0 Hereford 2
TWO second half goals saw Yate Town go down to defeat at the Jelf Stadium as runaway league leaders Hereford collect another three points at the top of the Southern League South and West table.
But Yate Town manager Paul Britton could feel proud of his young team as they resisted Hereford’s attacks and went into the break still fighting as the game remained goal-less.
And Yate resisted further after the interval as the second half continued in a similar fashion, with Hereford enjoying lengthy spells of possession.
Hereford created more chances and finally managed to break down the stubborn Yate defence on the hour mark with John Mills heading home at the back post.
Pablo Haysham got his name on the scoresheet moments later, doubling The Bulls’ advantage and sealing an important win.
Second place Evesham could only pick up a point against North Leigh, whilst Barnstaple beat Wimbourne by a single goal in the only other surviving games of the Southern League South and West, meaning that Hereford are now 17 points clear.
