TWO Jordan Rogers goals saw Yate Town slip to defeat on the road at Taunton Town in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West on Saturday.

In a steady rather than spectacular performance, Rogers scored both goals before the break to seal the three points and secure the league double over Yate Town.

A scrappy start saw Rogers and Matt Wright try their luck whilst a Matt Villis header forced a tip over save from Bluebells goalkeeper Harvey Rivers before Taunton struck.

The second came six minutes before the break from a powerful break from Ollie Chamberlain, finding Pierce Mitchell out on the right and from his curling cross Rogers was on hand at the back post to convert.

Yate Town tried to get back into the game in the second half but Taunton continued to boss the match.

Yate had their best spell in the latter stages and hit the bar from a Jack Camm lob.
