FRAMPTON Cotterell have survival in the Gloucester Premier League within their grasp as they face the biggest fortnight of the season.

That is the belief of head coach Andy Jarrett after Frampton secured a massive morale-boosting 26-3 win against Longlevens which included a crucial try bonus point to boot.

The victory over Longlevens means there are just two points separating Frampton, who currently occupy one of the two relegation places, from the safety of tenth place which is where Berry Hill sit.

On Saturday, Frampton will play Berry Hill at home in a showdown which will go a long way to deciding who stays up and who drops down.

But it does not end there as Frampton will follow this on Saturday week with a trip to Cheltenham North who, themselves, lie just five points off the relegation places.

Jarrett is confident that Frampton can pull off the great escape saying: “We have to make it happen.

“The next two games are must-win for us so that our destiny stays in our own hands. We have four out of six games left at home and we are playing well and not getting convincingly beaten by sides.”

Frampton have suffered from a bit of ‘white line fever’, said the coach, and not finished off their chances.

But, last Saturday, they clicked for the full eighty minutes, resulting in a fourth win out of 16 Gloucester Premier League matches this season to put them right back in the battle at the bottom.

Jarrett added: “We have just got to have that composure. We have to man up and I fully believe we will do that.

“I am convinced we will get out of this. The pressure is on us and I believe in the boys.”
