CHIPPING Sodbury believe they may have created a piece of history when all four of their Saturday sides were accompanied by dedicated scorers.

Sue Soper was with the firsts at Apperley, Tony Wake with the seconds at home to Cinderford St Johns, Steve Forecast with the thirds away to Bishopston and Malcolm Doody with the fourths at home to Frampton Cotterell.

League regulations demand that a qualified scorer must be in place for first and second team fixtures, but, more often than not, scoring duties in other games fall to the players involved in the match.

Chairman Andy Shield said: “We are very fortunate to have members who dedicate their Saturday afternoons to helping out in this way, I’m not sure any of us can think of other clubs who are in a similar position to having four qualified scorers.

“It’s a real bonus for the players involved as they can concentrate fully on their cricket and we also have books that add up and balance.”
