FORMER Ridings High School pupil Dave Attwood has signed for Guinness Premiership giants Gloucester after leaving Bristol.
The lock from Winterbourne, signed for the Cherry and Whites along with French prop Capdevielle from Brive, hooker Darren Dawiduik from Cornish Pirates and prop Rupert Harden from Tynedale.
Attwood studied at Bristol University whilst on a part-time contract with Bristol Rugby before going on to earn a senior deal and he made 11 appearances for them last season, including his first Premiership start against Sale.
University commitments limited Attwood’s first team availability in 2007-8 but he still caught the eye of the England Saxons selectors and was named in the squad to face Italy A in February 2008.
Gloucester coach Bryan Redpath said: “Dave Attwood played at the latter end of Bristol’s season. He’s only young but can fill in.”
