Yate results: Boys under-11 final - Ewan Joyce beat Adam Blue; Boys under-13 section - Ben Joyce, runner-up; Boys under-13 section - Matthew Cant, ‘B’ final runner-up; Girls under-11 section - Bethany Cooper, runner-up; Girls under-13 section - Molly Kendall beat Ellie Weldrake; Girls under-15 section - Charlotte Weldrake, runner-up; Boys under-17 section - Cory Withers, ‘B’ final runner-up.
The tournament was sponsored by Dunlop who provided the prizes, rackets for section winners and a racket bags for runners-up.
Yate continue to enjoy a renewed enthusiasm, partly due to the influx of junior players.
Their junior squash club has now been running for more than two years. Junior players range from seven to 15 and train on a Tuesday evening at the Yate Leisure centre.
The club currently has some spaces for 7 to 11-year-olds.
Yate offer junior training, club nights, box leagues, team matches and coaching with certified coaches.
All standards are very welcome. For further information and contacts see the website, www.yatesquashclub.com or contact Yate Leisure Centre.
