BRIMSHAM GREEN School’s under-12 girls five-a-side team won the Plate competition in the ESFA national finals in Derby’s soccerdome.
Representing the South West after winning the regional competition in Torbay, the Yate-based school faced some tough competition from the seven other area winners.
After playing their group matches, Brimsham ended up in third place, just missing out on qualifying for the cup semi-finals after winning one game, drawing one and losing one.
They then went into the knockout Plate competition, which they won after winning the semi-final and final.
PE teacher Ceri Hayward said: “It was a fantastic day and an excellent experience.
“Well done to the girls who all played very well throughout the five-a-side competition and thank you to Mr Denning for his coaching and support throughout the season.”
