YATE recorded their fourth away win in a row at struggling Wimborne.
Robin Nicholls gave the visitors an eighth minute lead when he fired past Jason Harvell.
Paul Roast headed over for Wimborne, before Dave Stone nodded wide at the other end with Harvell out of position.
Yate player-manager Rob Cousins cleared Jamie Davidson’s effort off the line to preserve his side’s lead at the break.
Three minutes into the second half Stone burst through to double Yate’s advantage.
Max Cream hit the bar for Wimborne, but Yate held on comfortably.
With just two defeats in their last 12 games, Yate are now 13th, level on points with local rivals Mangotsfield.
* Yate have made a seven-day approach for Mangotsfield United’s top scorer Tom Knighton.
