YATE TOWN look set to lose number one goalkeeper Josh Dempsey just two weeks before the start of the season.
The highly rated 24-year-old is the subject of a seven-day approach from Southern League Premier side Chippenham Town.
Dempsey made a rapid rise from local football to the Southern League when he joined Yate in the 2009-10 season and his impressive displays attracted the interest of Football League club Exeter City.
Boss Rob Cousins said: "By his own admission Josh didn't have the best of seasons last year, but on his day he could be one of the best in the league."
Yate have signed Brislington goalkeeper Chris Humphries, who played a few games for local rivals Mangotsfield United last season, on a dual registration and Cousins will also look at a trialist in their first home pre-season friendly against Weston-super-Mare on Friday as he looks to fill the void.
Cousins also expects to complete the signings of former Slimbridge midfielder Micky Bryant and ex-Bristol Rovers Academy striker Adnan Hiroli after successful trial periods with the club.
Yate remain unbeaten in pre-season after a victory over Bitton and a draw at Longwell Green.
Mitchell Page bagged a brace with fellow new recruit Danny Wring also getting on the scoresheet in the 5-1 win over Bitton. Harley Purnell and Matt Groves notched the other goals.
Assistant manager Michael Meaker gave Yate the lead at Longwell Green, but they conceded a late equaliser as the game finished 1-1.
Cousins said: "We looked sharp and fit against Bitton and were pleasing on the eye, but I was disappointed with the lacklustre performance on Saturday."
Yate are at home to Gloucester City  on Monday (7.45pm).
