AN UNBEATEN century from England international Michael Carberry sent Gloucestershire to defeat in their opening County Championship game against Hampshire at the County Ground in Bristol.
The left-handed opener scored 100 not out and shared a 101-run unbroken stand with James Vince (58*) as Hampshire cantered to their target of 215 for the loss of just two wickets on the final day.
Earlier, Gloucestershire added 24 runs to their overnight total of 308-9, Hamish Marshall falling just six runs short of his ton when he was bowled by Kyle Abbott.
