YATE Town slumped to a pre-season defeat at Western League side Cadbury Heath last night.
Rob Cousins’ side put the hosts under pressure early on but fell behind when their former on-loan striker Matt Huxley found the net just before half-time.
Heath doubled their lead after the break through George Boon.
Jake Jackson pulled a goal back for Yate near the end but the hosts held on.
Yate are at home to Bath City on Saturday (3pm) in their final friendly before the Southern League campaign begins.
