Skurrays of Swindon has the distinction of being amongst the longest established motor dealers in the country.
In the late 1800?s Mr Skurray (a local mill owner) became one of the first people in the Swindon area to own a motor vehicle. Working in the mill owned by Skurray was an employee who possessed an outstanding aptitude for mechanical repair to motor cars, an essential skill at the time to keep these very early cars running.
As the word spread about his employees ability Mr Skurray seeing an opportunity founded Skurrays Motor Garage in 1899 to meet the growing demand for his repair services.
A notable landmark in Skurrays history was back in 1926 when they teamed up with General Motors who had just acquired Vauxhall. Skurrays was the first garage in the country to place a bulk order for the Vauxhall product. They have held the franchise ever since.
Skurrays Vauxhall was acquired in January 2009, by Nick Plevey (pictured right) and Nigel Harvey, who previously held senior management positions in leading UK automotive Plc's.
In addition to being one of the biggest car dealerships in Wiltshire, we also are one of the leading light commercial vehicle (van) dealerships in the south-west with a large range of new and used vans for sale.
Of course, through the Network Q approved used vehicle network, we are also able to source a huge range of used cars from all the major manufacturers
Naturally we also offer a full range of aftersales services including full car servicing facilities for Vauxhall, Chevrolet and Saab. In addition to these manufacturers we are also very capable of servicing all other makes of vehicles to manufacturerÂ?s recommendations.
As well as car servicing, we also offer full MOT testing centre facilities. We can also diagnose and repair vehicle faults and have an free of charge accident management programme with an associate car bodyshop to remedy any accident damage.
Other services include Motability sales, plus approved parts and accessory sales.
