Girl power ruled on the red carpet as The Secret Life Of Bees premiered in Toronto.
Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Sophie Okonedo and Dakota Fanning attended the world premiere at the Roy Thomson Hall, part of the Toronto Film Festival, as waiting fans cheered.
Showing off a new hair-do, Queen Latifah revealed: "I literally came from vacation to here so I don't know anything. I know I have a hot-ass pair of shoes on and a banging dress, and my hair is styled to the nines and I'm feeling good. Other than that, who can call it?"
She added: "It was an opportunity to really be loving and nurturing and caring in a role, and to be connected to people."
Alicia, who looked stunning in a purple Nicole Miller dress and Jimmy Choo heels, said: "It was different. Certain things and certain songs are surrounded by magic, and this is one of those things. I felt it. There's a certain chill about it, and so I just felt really good about being part of something where you could feel the magic."
And Sophie Okonedo, in a navy Roberto Cavalli gown, added: "It was such a beautiful story. Quite simple in a way - there's no guns, running around or epic scenes. There's a lot of times where it's just the few of us in a room together."
"I really liked it. And I get to work with this lot - they're pretty amazing," the British star said, while pointing to the rest of the cast.
