SCHOOL’S out! The sun is shining and parents across the region are searching for things to do this summer that both they and their children will enjoy.

Well, Camp Bestival, which takes place at the gorgeous Lulworth Castle in Dorset, is a beautiful venue for a fabulous kid-friendly four-day festival, and is still just a relatively short drive away.

Camp Bestival is the ‘little sister’ of Bestival, which is held on the Isle of Wight every year, and is also organised by Radio 1 Dj Rob Da Bank.

The Festival, which is a previous winner of the ‘Best Family Festival’ award, is primarily aimed at families with young children - making it a rare gem on the Festival circuit circuit.

This year, there are all sorts of wild tales afoot in the woodland story den, and Horrible Histories Illustrator Martin Brown will be signing books for fans who turn out for the Horrible Histories: Barmy Britain Festival premiere. From young British foodies to the Four Corners Treasure Trail, there really is something to keep even the most demanding youngsters entertained.

Ane while kids line-up to catch a glimpse of Mr Tumble and MCs Dick and Dom, there are top music acts from across the decades lined up to entertain the grown ups! This year’s Bestival offering includes Gabrielle Aplin, Mark Owen, Labrinth, The Levellers, Heaven 17, Ash and Nik Kershaw and many more. And if music’s not your thing, then perhaps the spoken word might tickle your fancy? Guest speakers this year include Howard Marks and Scroobius Pip.

Camp Bestival takes place at Lulworth Castle, Dorset from August 1-4.
