HILLESLEY Village Hall is now becoming the mecca of the folk/country world.

Following hot on the heels of the award winning Blackheart Tia McGraff, a leading Canadian singer/songwriter will be appearing at the Hall on Sunday, June 1 (7.30pm).

Tia has been described as having "a voice stolen from angels" and Bob Harris, from BBC said: "Tia's voice has a special beauty. She has the rare ability to touch people with her music and somehow make them better", She has appeared on television with such luminaries as Johnny Cash and June Carter.

Tia McGraff was born in Port Dover, ON, Canada, and began writing and recording at the age of 19. After releasing 2 CDs on her label Bandana Records, and 4 videos on CMT Canada, Tia moved to Nashville to further her writing career. It was here that she met her partner in life and on stage, songwriter/producer Tommy Parham. Together they have released 2 albums; toured main stage festivals and songwriter venues around the world.

Tia and Tommy are the modern day indie artists who are reaching and building a fan base around the world; their music is heartwarming, uplifting.

Peter Whitbread, a member of the hall and field committee wants as many people to hear Tia and her guitarist Tommy Parham. " I am delighted that we seem to have found ourselves on the music circuit. It followed a chance encounter with the manager of Blackheart and the next thing I knew Hillesley was firmly on the music scene. But we need to publicise the concert further afield and would like to fill the hall to capacity - and that is only 50!. Tickets are only £10, there is a licenced bar and some nibbles. All proceeds go to the upkeep of the Hall."

Tickets are available from Peter on 07833491242, e-mail: 4farmcotian@gmail.com or at the door on the night if there is room.
