Stinchcombe Village Players present ‘Sleeping Beauty’

Stinchcombe Village Players round off this year’s panto season with their production of Julie Petrucci and Chris Shinn’s Sleeping Beauty on the evenings of the 6, 7 and 8 March in Stinchcombe Village Hall (a matinee is also presented on the March 8).

The lead roles of Princess Aurora and Prince Valiant are taken by Luna Stephens and Sophia Smout, while King Basil and Queen Sybil are played by Sebastian Hamilton and Catherine Lloyd. They will need the audience’s support to defeat the wicked Zelda Blackadder, played by returning director Sarah Hopkins, while the Dame is portrayed by newcomer to the cast, but old hand to the stage, Daniel Johnson. There are many other faces, both returning and new, and the cast includes pupils from Rednock, KLB, Stroud High and North Nibley Schools.

Last year’s performance, the first in Stinchcombe from Director Sarah Hopkins, was the Player’s greatest success in their nine-year history, and this year they plan to top even that. With plenty of singing, dancing, audience participation, explosions and surprises, the show promises to be a hit with the young… And the young at heart!
