THE Cotswold Players’ latest production opens in March with four out-of-condition actors playing four out-of-condition businessmen sent off on a team-building exercise.

'Neville’s Island' is written by Tim Firth of Calendar Girls fame. With heavy fog and rare birds in the air, the unlucky foursome succeed in becoming the first people ever to get shipwrecked on an island in the Lake District

Jonathan Vickers, who recently performed at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre as part of the Open Stages project is joined on stage by Cotswold Playhouse veteran Dave Kilmister, recently seen in two-hander Two at the Playhouse, and newcomer Richard Tiley. Tiley is no stranger to the outdoors. The certified Bushcraft Leader, a course he completed in 2009, will be calling upon his experience in a 125-mile Devizes to Westminster canoe race to enhance his performance.

Making up the team is Richard J Loftus who makes a welcome return in this comedy-drama. Richard was last seen on the Playhouse stage in 2006, when he starred as Peter Pan in the Rosebowl Award-winning Peter Pan. After three years at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Perfomance, Richard is thrilled to be on home turf.

The last Tim Firth production at the Cotswold Playhouse was a sell-out success and the Players are hoping the same will be true of this comedy in thick fog.

Neville’s Island by Tim Firth runs at Stroud’s Cotswold Playhouse from Tuesday 25 to Saturday 29 March. Visitt www.cotswoldplayhouse.co.uk for more details and tickets.
