FRANK Skinner’s live career began in 1987 when he spent £400 of his last £435 booking a room at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Four years later in 1991 he returned to the city and beat fellow nominees Jack Dee and Eddie Izzard to take home comedy’s most prestigious prize, The Perrier Award. He last toured the UK in 2007 with the twice-extended, totally sold-out Frank Skinner Live.

Frank is well known for a range of television work, including The Frank Skinner Show (ITV), which is widely credited as setting the tone for the modern comedic chat show and ran for nine years, attracting 11 million viewers at its peak. He has hosted three series of BBC One’s Room 101 and will present a second series of Portrait Artist of the Year (Sky Arts) in late 2014.

As a radio presenter his award-winning Absolute Radio show attracts over 600,000 listeners every Saturday morning and won ‘Speech Programme’ at the 2014 Radio Academy Awards. It was recently announced that Frank has created and will host a brand-new comedy panel show, The Rest is History, for BBC Radio 4. It was announced last month that he will guest star in an episode of the new series of Doctor Who (BBC) this autumn.

As an author, Frank has published Dispatches from the Sofa, a collection of columns he wrote for The Times over a two year period, and has written two autobiographies, the first of which, Frank Skinner, was the top-selling autobiography of 2002, spending 46 weeks in The Sunday Times Bestseller List.

Frank Skinner will be bringing his highly successful ‘Man In A Suit’ tour to Cheltenham Town Hall on Friday 7 November 2014. Tickets are available to purchase in person at the Cheltenham Town Hall Box Office or via Cheltenhamtownhall.org.uk
