SOUTHLANDS, TYTHERINGTON REGENERATION INITIAL DEMOLITION NOTICE EXTENSION Under Schedule 5 of the Housing Act 1985

This notice is given by Merlin Housing Society Limited (which is part of the Bromford Housing Group), of Riverside Court Building 2, Bowling Hill, Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire BS37 6JX ("Merlin") having been given consent by the Secretary of State on the 13th February 2020 to extend the Initial Demolition Notice served on the occupiers of the dwelling houses referred to in the Notice dated 11 March 2013 for a further period of three years.

It is the intention of Merlin to demolish premises in Southlands, Tytherington to

address structural defects that have been identified to enable redevelopment of the area to provide new housing.

Merlin is required by Schedule 5 of the Housing Act 1985 to publish the following information:

? Merlin intends to demolish the following premises ("the Premises") known as: 5, 6, 7 and 8 Southlands, Tytherington



? The demolition of the above houses (the Premises) is necessary for the regeneration of Southlands, Tytherington and is integral to the scheme



? Merlin intends to demolish the Premises by 10 March 2023



? Merlin shall serve Demolition Extension Notices upon the occupiers of all dwelling-houses contained within the Premises on or before 11 March 2020. These notices will come into force on 11 March 2020 and will cease to be in force on 10 March 2023 unless revoked, otherwise terminated or extended under or by virtue of paragraph 3 of Schedule 5A of the Housing Act 1985.



? Whilst this Notice is in force Merlin will not be under an obligation to make such a grant as is mentioned in section 138(1) of the Housing Act 1985 in respect of any claim by a tenant to exercise the right to buy in respect of any of the premises described in this Notice.



? There may be a right to compensation under section 138C of the Housing Act 1985 in respect of certain expenditure incurred in relation to any existing right to buy claim.
