Publication of the Pre-Submission Draft Stroud District Local Plan under Regulations 19, 20 and 35 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012
On 29 April 2021 Stroud District Council approved a Pre-Submission Draft Local Plan for publication. The Local Plan is now available for those who would like to make comments on the contents of the Plan. All comments received will be submitted to the Secretary of State and considered as part of a public examination by an independent Planning Inspector. The Council expects to submit the Plan to the Secretary of State during September 2021. The Council expects any hearing sessions as part of that examination to be held during early 2022.
Representations at this stage should only be made to the legal compliance of the Local Plan i.e. whether the correct procedures have been taken in its preparation and to the "soundness" of the Plan i.e. has the Plan been positively prepared; is it justified by the evidence; is it effective and deliverable and is it consistent with national policy. Representations should specify in what respect(s) the Plan is considered to be unsound, and what change(s) would need to be made to make it sound.
Please note that in accordance with the provisions of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020, copies of documents are only available to view on the Council's website. They can be viewed at
from Wednesday 26 May 2021. In order to make a representation, you will need to fill in an online representation form.
If you have any questions regarding this consultation stage or need help filling in the representation form please contact the Planning Strategy Team via email
or by phoning the Planning Strategy Team on 01453 754143.
The period for making comments runs from 26th May 2021 to 7th July 2021.
