The Boobytrap
THE Village Players production of The Boobytrap’ a farce by Jane Hilliard, provided an entertaining evening (Wednesday May 15) for an audience who appreciated all the ‘rude’ bits and quickly saw which way the plot was going. Ian Humphries as Gerald, an MP enjoying his weekend retreat, found that someone was intent on compromising anything in trousers. The title gives most of the game away, and the charms of Chrissie, (Sarah Dodd) soon had all the male characters wondering what their long suffering wives were about to learn.
Every player got quickly into their characters which helped the convoluted plot rivet the audiences attention. A jolly good show, decent (well, perhaps not exactly decent) homemade entertainment.
