JOIN the Global Peace Party in Stroud next weekend with events in The Subscription Rooms and Lansdown Hall.

Event organiser Jo Woolley said: “International Peace Day is a fantastic opportunity to focus on what kind of future we want to create through personal inquiry and the challenge of collaboration.”

On Saturday, September 23 there will be speakers at the Sub Rooms including Jo Berry, founder of Bridges of Peace charity, Peter Willcox, captain of Rainbow Warrior, the Greenpeace ship and Polly Higgins, international earth lawyer.

On Saturday evening serious fun can be had at a cabaret of song at Lansdown Hall from Circle of Song, Stroud Song, Tom Drywood and Maggi Atma; poetry from Jehanne Mehta, Gabriel Miller, Adam Horowitz, Rick Vic and Jo Woolley; comedy with Peter Adams, Kate Lewis, John Dougherty, Aidan Dunsdon, Amy Godfrey, Paul Cosby and the Comic Ukulele Band together with a specially made film by Flies on the Wall youth theatre group.

On Sunday, September 24 there is a Dance for Peace Day at Lansdown Hall.

And throughout the week, from September 18-25 there will be displays of children’s Peace art work from all around the world as well as from Rodborough Community Primary School, including some adult contributions from Stroud Textiles, Horsley and Rodborough, in local cafes and shops throughout Stroud town.
