A GROOVING force formed by a multicultural collective of musicians will be taking over at the Chipping Hall in Wotton-Under-Edge this March.
The Mankala Band has one common vision: to create Joyous Roots Dance Music.
Since its origin, in 2003, the band has transformed, expanded and adapted... yet has always maintained the original core energy and philosophy: “Good vibes produce good music, good music produce good vibes”
The Mankala Band has been performing their unique High Energy Pan African influenced sounds all over the UK, and beyond, and will be bringing their infectious enthusiasm and great sounds to Under the Edge Arts on Sat 8th March, at 8pm.
Prior to the concert, there will also be a workshop from 2 to 4pm introducing the rhythms, found throughout Africa, which influence the Mankala sound. You are invited to bring along anything which makes a noise, but a variety of percussive instruments will also be available for you to use. The workshop is suitable for all ages.
