THE inaugural concert on the newly restored William Allen chamber organ in St Peter’s Church, Pilning, will be given by the internationally acclaimed organist, Jennifer Bate.
Jennifer Bate is in the top rank of international organists and has long been a favourite at all the world's great festivals. Many composers have written for her, inspired by her phenomenal technique and ability to bring out the colours of the organ. Jennifer gives master-classes worldwide and lectures on a wide range of musical subjects.
She became involved with the restoration of the chamber organ in St Peter’s Pilning after it was described as a ‘Hidden Gem’. She supported the restoration when grants were applied for, particularly from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Jennifer followed the restoration progress by Goetze and Gwyn Ltd at Worksop, and offered to give the first recital.
The recital takes place on Saturday, April 30 at 7.30pm. Tickets £20, available by calling 01454 632670
