Colin Firth’s new film role couldn’t be further from The King’s Speech.
The Oscar-winning actor gets to show off his inner action star in the latest trailer for Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Colin, who plays secret agent Harry Hart, takes a pop at other spy films in the new preview of the action-comedy, which also stars Samuel L Jackson, Sir Michael Caine and Taron Egerton.
“Nowadays, they’re all a bit serious for my taste. Give me a far-fetched, theatrical plot any day,” Harry tells Samuel’s character, Valentine.
The 54-year-old King’s Speech star is later seen throwing some punches, shooting bullets and showing off some impressive gadgets as he teaches Taron’s newcomer the ropes to becoming a top spy.
The film – adapted by Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman from Mark Millar’s comic book and directed by Kick-Ass filmmaker Matthew – also stars Mark Strong, Samantha Womack and Jack Davenport.
Kingsman: The Secret Service opens in UK cinemas on January 29, 2015.
