Hailee Steinfeld is to star in supernatural romantic thriller, Break My Heart 1,000 Times.
The Oscar-nominated True Grit actress is attached to the big-screen adaptation of Daniel Waters’ teenage novel, reported The Wrap.
Described as a cross between The Fault In Our Stars and The Sixth Sense, the film will be directed by Scott Speer – who previously directed Step Up Revolution – and has been written by Jason Fuchs.
The movie, which could spawn a potential franchise, is set after a cataclysmic event, which leaves ghosts as a part of everyday life.
Hailee is set to play Veronica, who receives a threatening message from a ghost that has made contact with her.
The 18-year-old actress, who made her big-screen debut in the Coen brothers’ western True Grit, will next star in Pitch Perfect 2 and action-comedy Barely Lethal.
