Peter Sarsgaard is in final talks to play the baddie in The Magnificent Seven remake.
The Jarhead actor is said to be in closing negotiations to play Bartholomew Bogue in Antoine Fuqua’s Western, reported The Wrap.
The character of Bartholomew is a robber baron, whose hired thugs kill a man, after his wife hires a group of gunfighters to reclaim the small town from him.
Peter’s possible addition to the cast comes after reports that Jason Momoa has dropped out of the MGM/Sony remake of the 1960 movie, which originally starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and Eli Wallach.
Antoine will reunite with his Training Day and The Equalizer collaborator Denzel Washington for The Magnificent Seven, which also stars Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Haley Bennett, Byung-Hun Lee and Matt Bomer.
