THE Rain or Shine Theatre Company are all set to delight family audiences once again this summer with their loclal production of The Bard's magical and mysterious masterpiece 'The Tempest'.

Shakespeare's The Tempest is a tale that encompasses comic capers, romantic encounters, villainous plots and a host of apparitions and spirits, where a fantastic web of intrigue is woven.

Washed up on an unknown isle after a tempestuous storm at sea, survivors of a shipwreck are amazed to find themselves alive, without injury and wearing clothes that are dry and clean! For this isno ordinary isle. It is one ruled by a sorcerer who can control the elements, control minds and conjure up spirits at will. Welcome to Prospero's island, a place where much is not as it seems and long held secrets will be revealed...

The Gloucester-based company is performing throughout the UK and Channel Islands until the end of August, and are looking forward to the promised heatwave! When possible the company likes to use professional actors local to the region, and this year is no exception. The production involves 3 actors from Gloucester, and Dursley based Claire Tucker, along side her husband, James Reynard, who also directs. Popular Wotton actor, Anthony Young, is once again part of the troupe and this summer the company is joined by Ellis J. Wells, who has family based in Cam.

The Tempest is coming to the Breakheart Community Project, Dursley at 7pm on July 1 and then returns to the area with a performance at Nibley House, North Nibley at 7.30pm on July 30.

Audiences are invited to bring along low-backed seating or rugs, and picnic to maximise their enjoyment of the al fresco performances.
