MERRY Mechanicals Theatre Group presents William Shakespeare’s most beloved romantic comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream; written in the 1590’s it is still as funny and bewitching as ever.
Staged in the enchanting Victorian walled garden at Old Down Country Park, A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be performed Thursday 1, Friday 2 and Saturday 3 September at 7.30pm. Bring a picnic blanket (some seating available).
In a bewitching tale of love and fantasy, four star-struck lovers and a hapless band of would-be thespians are dragged into the feud of a warring Fairy King and Queen, with plenty of mischievous fairies on hand to make sure “the course of true love never did run smooth.”
