A 43-YEAR-OLD Wotton-under-Edge woman was warned that jail is likely after she made a 'bad mistake' and traded in heroin.

Nicola Keyse, of Turnpike Avenue, pleaded guilty at Gloucester Crown Court to possessing the drug with intent to supply on May 11 last year.

Her solicitor, Claire Malvern, said Keyse had conquered a drug addiction 14 years ago but then had a 'blip' and started using it again last year when a relationship broke down.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC asked "But what was she doing selling heroin then?"

From the dock, Keyse said "Bad mistake."

"Yes, a bad mistake," agreed the judge, who commented that heroin dealing and usage seemed to be on the decline lately.

Bailing Keyse until February 25 for a pre-sentence report the judge told her: "I am sure Miss Malvern has explained that a judge's hands are pretty well tied with people who deal in Class A drugs."
