POLICE are calling for witnesses to a fatal accident on the M5 motorway to come forward.
It happened at 6.15pm on Friday (December 13) southbound between junctions 14 for Thornbury and 15 for Almondsbury.
A van and a Range Rover collided. The van driver, a man in his 30s, died at the scene. A passenger in the van and the driver of the Range Rover were uninjured.
A police spokesman said: "It was a busy Friday rush hour when the collision occurred and it is likely that there are witnesses who we have not yet spoken to.
"We would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened to help us piece together the circumstances of the collision.
The motorway was closed following the accident and police have thanked drivers for their patience.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
