STRAWBERRIES were served up at Thornbury Hospital as its team of supporters celebrated a landmark anniversary.
The League of Friends of Thornbury Hospital is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and held a strawberry tea to launch its summer activities.
It was attended by town mayor, Guy Rawlinson, and many local residents, who between them raised more than £400. the money will go into the charity's fund to provide support for patients and staff of the hospital'sHenderson Ward.
Young dancers from Crossways Infant School performed three folk dances, while three pupils from Crossways Junior School also sang to entertain the visitors.
Shirley Holloway, the league's chairman, thanked her committee for the work carried out through the year and spoke of her continuing hopes for new health facilities for the town.
