CHRISTMAS preparations are already well underway and the Thornbury Christmas Lights Association has announced when the lights will be switched on.
This year’s lights will be turned on on Tuesday, November 18 when the association’s chosen charity will be holding a bucket collection.
This year Friends of New Siblands School was chosen as the charity beneficiary who will be collecting money on the night of the switch-on.
With the support of the general public, local businesses, South Gloucestershire Council, Thornbury Town Council and a small band of volunteers Thornbury will once again be festooned in lights for the Christmas period.
Additional homes and businesses have signed up to be decorated so the display should be even more spectacular.
If you fancy helping create the Christmas displays for 2014 or have a home or business on Castle Street you would like to have a display contact Brian Roberts by calling 01454 822626.
If you would like to be in with a chance of assisting with the switch on send your name, address, contact number and an email address to Sally Higgins, Publicity Officer TCLA, 12, Bluebell Close, Thornbury, BS35 1UN and enclose a donation of at least 50p.
