A FIRM of solicitors in Chipping Sodbury has won a national conveyancing award.

Clutton Cox is celebrating receiving the top prize in the category for best website and social media marketing in the awards organised by Legal Firm Services (LFS).

It was presented to Paul Hajek, Clutton Cox's principal, who is also the conveyancing expert on the BBC programme Rip-Off Britain.

LFS said Clutton Cox stood out because of the expert content on its website and the way it was promoted through social media.

Mike Day, one of the judges, said the website was centred on Mr Hajek and praised the large quantities of content and the way online inquiries were followed up.

Mr Hajek has also won a conveyancing award from Prime Location and became one of the first recognised members of the Law Society’s conveyancing quality scheme.

He said, “I’ve been writing about conveyancing for six years. It’s a subject that most people moving house don’t really understand.

"In the rush to get their dream home, people can make lots of mistakes if they don’t know the legal process of buying a property.

"When I started out I didn’t think I’d be winning awards for my blog, publishing a book on the subject and appearing on the BBC, but it just goes to show what happens if you put your heart and soul into something.”
