A FIRE crew from Dursley was called to a chimney fire in Coaley which required five firefighters to extinguish the blaze.
At about 6.30pm the fire service received a call to a chimney fire at a property in Coaley.
One fire appliance from the Dursley station was mobilised to deal with the incident with a total crew of five fire-fighters.
They remained on scene for over an hour and used chimney rods to clear the fire and thermal image cameras to ensure no hot spots remained.
Due to an increased popularity of solid fuel heating, Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service attends a significant number of chimney fires every year.
