MEMBERS of a young charity group based in Wotton-under-Edge will hold a charity fundraiser in aid of a hospital.
Members of the Wott-ON youth project will be holding the fundraiser in the Wotton Town Hall on Saturday, February 14.
It will raise money for Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, Action for ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) and help to provide new activities for young people in the town.
Organiser Kieran Underwood, 15, said: “This charity event is important to me as my cousin was treated at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children after being diagnosed with cancer.”
Fellow organiser Jorden Jones-Vines,15, added: “The ME charity is special to me as my mother and someone close to me have the illness. I would like to raise as much money and awareness as possible.”
The fundraiser is for all ages and will have a wide range of activities and entertainment on offer.
There will be stalls, competitions, dance workshops run by teenage members of New Generation Dance, a buskers’ corner featuring local young musicians, a cafe run by other members of the Wott-ON project, face painting and more.
Wott-ON project leader Katie Elliott said: “The amount of hard work and dedication the team have put into making this event happen is extraordinary. It has been an absolute pleasure working with them.”
