A NEW service to help artisan food and drink producers link up with other retailers has appointed an experienced specialist to their team.
Ian Cooke who has extensive food industry experience, has become commercial account manager for BK FreshTrack.
He said: “My remit is to help artisan businesses get their goods to market in the South West.
“We want to give consumers easier access to some of the great tasting delicious products supplied by the artisan producers who share our vision.
“Many farmers and growers have diversified by producing their own products but they need support to finds a route to market and navigate the regulatory requirements of the food industry.”
Ian Cooke, who, holds an MBA, has worked with international food group Vion and other producers such as 2 Sisters Food Group, Quorn Foods, Bakkavor, Cargill and RHM.
He has worked with multiple and independent retailers across different categories and has experience in the supply of both own label and branded products.
