GLOUCESTERSHIRE Police were called to house in Churnside, North Cerney, Cirencester on Saturday 25th April just after 4pm when a householder was digging in his garden and found a grenade in the soil.
It was old and rusty with the trigger and pin visible and is thought to be from the Second World War.
Fortunately, following investigations by the explosives ordnance disposal unit, it was found to be safe as it had been disarmed some time in the past.
