FIREFIGHTERS cut a man free from his car after a road traffic collision in Chipping Sodbury.
The fire and rescue service was called to the scene in Tetbury Road, Old Sodbury at just after midnight on Monday morning.
Two fire engines from Yate Fire Station and one fire engine from Bath Fire Station attended the scene with a total of 15 firefighters.
Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the car and working alongside paramedics the man in his 20s was assisted on to a spinal board.
He was taken to hospital suffering from suspected back injuries.
An Avon Fire & Rescue spokesman said: “This was a single vehicle collision and crews were on scene for around one hour dealing with the incident.”
