POLICE are appealing for information after various pieces of jewellery and silver were stolen from a home in Kingscote.
At about midday on Thursday, October 1 the house was broken into. It is believed that a pillowcase taken from a bedroom was used to carry the sentimental items.
A witness, passing by at the time, heard the alarm activation and saw a man walking away from the location with what was thought to be a white carrier bag in his hand.
The man is described as white, about 35 years old and around 5’ 8” tall. He was wearing a dark jacket with a red logo, a woolly hat and blue gloves.
It is believed hemay have driven off in a silver “Japanese style” 4x4 vehicle, similar to a Mitsubishi Shogun, which was seen in the area and was missing its front grille.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the offender/s or the vehicle, or have any information about the incident to please call 101 quoting Incident Number 176 of October 1.
