LET'S be honest, the weather lately has been atrocious, and everyone’s garden is surely going to suffer as a result.
The Gazette’s Aaron Sims spoke to Almondsbury Garden Centre’s Richard Lovell to find out what the best ways to get your garden back on track are.
“The first thing you want to do is clear all the dead leaves, twigs and branches that will be dotted around the garden,” said Richard.
“In order to give the plants the best chance to keep going, you want to clear away anything that might be preventing them getting the full amount of light they need to develop.
He added: “Are any of your herbaceous plants poking through?
“You will be wanting to clear any mulch from previous years’ plants so they can get growing.
“Once you have cleared away the mess, you can think about feeding.”
Is your garden looking in good shape at the moment? If so, send your pictures in to aaron.sims@gazetteseries.co.uk along with your name, address and a daytime contact number for the chance to win a £75 gift voucher from Almondsbury Garden Centre, Bristol’s biggest independent garden centre.
Entries close on Sunday, May 15, with the winners announced in the Gazette on Thursday, May 19.
