LANES are now open after a lorry fire on the M5 southbound forced a temporary closure while repairs were made.
The incident, which took place between junction 13 for Stroud, and junction 14 for Thornbury, involved a lorry carrying 15 tonnes of hay which had caught alight.
Firefighters were called at 6.56pm yesterday, with crews from across the county banding together to tackle the blaze, using breathing apparatus, two jets and a hose reel.
The entire stretch between junctions was closed overnight, opening again to traffic earlier this morning.
Highways England have said that repairs will be carried out later today.
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service have said the event is not being treated as suspicious.
