A HEALTH care clinic in Iron Acton has raised over £600 for a charity that supports pregnant women.
The Old Rectory Clinic held a Danish ‘Hygge’ over the weekend and managed to raise £695 for the Birth and Wellbeing Partnership Fund - a charity that offers massage and counselling support to pregnant women, partners and maternity staff.
A Hygge, pronounced hue-guh, is a Danish word that is difficult to translate, but refers to the warm glow that comes from being around food, friends and comfort.
Guests paid £12 to attend the event, and were welcomed into warm candlelit rooms where they were served hot chocolate, milk, biscuits and cakes.
Various massage treatments were on offer as well as a group meditation session.
Caroline Huish, practice manager of The Old Rectory Clinic, said: “The Old Rectory Clinic provides the highest quality of care in a warm, welcoming and professional environment.
“We have worked hard to create a reputation for excellence and we are delighted to be able to use our talents to help raise money for such a worth-while cause.”
