THE MALL at Cribbs Causeway was evacuated last night after a fire was deliberately started in a toilet.
Security at the mall alerted the fire services after smoke was spotted coming out of the womenβs toilets on the ground floor at 8.38pm last night.
Firefighters from Patchway, Southmead, Avonmouth and Temple Back fire stations attended the incident, which is believed to have been started deliberately.
They used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, two jets and ventilation fans to deal with the fire and smoke.
The whole shopping centre was evacuated, however no one is reported to have been injured during the incident.
Twitter user @mariahforever98 tweeted that she was one of the people at the Mall at the time.
"I was evacuated tonight, it was so awful!" she wrote.
"I hope whoever did this is caught! A major thank you to our emergency services!"
