THE housebuilder behind the Churchill Gardens development in Yate has announced record profits for the last financial year.

Newland Homes turned over £50million, with profits of £6.5million, in 2016, and has since been named as one of the UK’s top 25 fastest growing businesses.

Recent planning permissions granted for the Gloucester-based company include 20 new homes at Drovers Way in Chipping Sodbury.

Last year, they had 13 live sites across the South West and completed the sale of 186 plots – 76 of which were "affordable homes".

This includes the development of 34 homes at Churchill Gardens, off Randolph Avenue in Yate, which is well underway.

David Foreman, Newland Homes managing director, said that the "future is bright for the company".

“2016 was, thanks to all our efforts, a fantastic year for sales, land purchases, planning permissions and construction," he said.

“Subject to no major issues around Brexit, we are confident that our well-established, long serving, loyal team, combined with our very welcome and much needed new recruits, will see us continue to build our brand and reputation."

“This year has already got off to a flying start and we plan to continuing building and growing on the success we have already achieved in our 25th year.

"With exciting developments across the region, including Whitebridge Gardens in Thornbury, Broad Blunsdon Heights in Swindon, Oakfield Road in Frome and Cotswold Edge in Mickleton, we have properties to suit all types of homebuyer."
