FOLLOWING the installation of two defibrillators in Wotton-under-Edge, a seminar will be held next week providing an opportunity to learn how to use the lifesaving equipment.
Representatives of the Community Heartbeat Trust will be at the Civic Centre at 7pm on Monday teaching anyone who is interested in how the machines work.
Arranged by Wotton-under-Edge Town Council, the event comes after the recent installation of defibrillators at the Civic Centre and at Synwell pavilion, funded through a Big Lottery Fund grant.
Its aim is to raise awareness about the new defibrillators and how to use them.
At the seminar, Representatives of the Community Heartbeat Trust will explain how the equipment works, demonstrate how to use it in an emergency and outline its benefits in the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest.
Mayor of Wotton, Cllr Paul Smith, said: “The town council is delighted to have secured funding from the National Lottery to provide this vital equipment for the town.
“The seminar is a great opportunity for residents to find out how they can play a part in saving lives in our community and we hope people will be encouraged to come along.”
Anyone is invited to attend the workshop and refreshments will be provided. For more information, call The One Stop Shop on 01453 521659.
