A CHRISTMAS shoe box appeal to help underprivileged young people in Romania has been launched in Charfield.
More than 100 boxes have been filled and wrapped already as part of the Charfield Chapel appeal, with the aim to reach 250 by the deadline in October.
In December, volunteers will visit Oradea in Romania with charity Christian Agency for Social Action (CASA) to give out the shoe boxes.
Having supported the shoe box appeal run by CASA for a number of years, the chapel has had help from many in the village, and are calling on more to get involved.
April Palmer, from Charfield Chapel, said: “We would like to ask for help, we are in need of items such as warm hats, scarves, gloves, toiletries, toys and sweets to fill the boxes.
“People can donate a box already wrapped and filled, and empty shoeboxes are always welcome too.”
